I purchased grids from www.squarefootgardening.com or from www.homegardenstogo.com. You can build your own from blinds, wood, or even string (if your boxes are wood).

You read my mind--I have a friend who does this type of composting, and I've been planning on doing a bunch of composting posts this season. Just watch for it!

I was thinking of building a SFG, made of cinder blocks. Has anybody else done this? Was there any problems with it?

I plant mine one per square. They can get a little big and start crowding the neighbors. I just plant accordingly.

I purchased my trellis from squarefootgardening.com. However, they would be cheap to make with 1/2" aluminum pipe. Theoretically, this is easy but I've never done it, so I can't really say. Just measure how wide and high you want the trellis, and cut the pipe 6" longer. So, if you want it 4' wide and 5' high, add 4+5+5+0.5=14.5' total. Then, use the tools (found right by the pipe at Home Depot) to bend the corners. Pound a 12" piece of rebar halfway into the ground where you want the trellis, and slide the pipe on top. I like to give the whole thing a little shove down into the ground, for stability. Then just tie your nylon netting to this.
