I have a question I have never done a garden and now I have lots of space to put one in but am intimidated by what to do. With the SFG do you like them on ground level or have you tried them raised lets say 3 or so feet? What way would be easier?

Shauna,

I'm not sure who you saw at the boutique, but I don't sell garden boxes. Perhaps it was the official Square Foot Garden crew with Mel Bartholemew. You can find that store at www.squarefootgardening.com. Or, it could have been Home Gardens To Go. You can find them at www.homegardenstogo.com. Good luck!

Erin,

I have lots of family in Las Vegas, but thus far no gardeners. It's a shame, I think, because you can garden all through the winter there! There's only about a month of freezing temps, and some plants can survive that easily! I think the main shift is that for many plants you have to grow them fall-winter-spring and take the hot summer off. Good luck!

I'm so glad I found your site! I live in Las Vegas, and I'm hoping to grow some food in my first square foot garden. Any tips would be great to make this happen in this hot desert!
