Frost is no longer a concern –you can plant or transplant anything and everything you’ve been waiting for! Just make sure you have enough days left in the growing season to harvest before frost sets in!
Happy gardening!

My garden is planted!! I do have some spring weather crops such as lettuce, broc, and spinach. Will I be able to plant something in their place once they are finished?
Yes, very likely! Probably something that grows fast, like beets, lettuce, or a fall harvest of the same veggies to be picked in September/Oct.
Any chance of making a plan for fall gardening? I always get so wrapped up in the summer and forget to start plants for the fall! It would be nice to have a reminder.
I am having a late rainy season with a cool delta front. I just finished up my boxes and am getting ready to plant. I look at your website and see what to transplant and what to plant outside can you explain the difference. I was planning to start my garden with mostly the in season hardy plants from the store. A few items I believe will grow I was going to get seeds for and start them inside are these the ones you talk about transplanting first before I put them into my garden. This is my first time so I’m not sure exactly. By the way I live in California and my frost date is Mar 2nd, so I chose the red group. Thanks.
It’s in the works!
I show three “start times”–starting seeds (indoors), transplanting (means planting a plant you started indoors or purchased), plant outside means planting seeds (or seed potatoes, or onion sets). Also, I’m working on a color group for folks like you who fall outside the red group.
