Good work on that garden! I see that you have deer. I do too. It looks like you have a four foot fence. Does that keep the deer out? I read somewhere that they don’t like to jump into small enclosures. My garden will be 16′ x 16′ with one side against the house. I’m wondering if a 4′ or 5′ fence will keep them out. Anybody out there feel free to jump in!

    Happy gardening,
    Steve

You should not plant tomatoes after potatoes or squash. Try peas and lettuce or a cover crop for the winter to improve the soil. See rotation in Bartholemews book. Though I have just turned and replenish the soil with compost so I can keep tomatoes on the north end where the trellise is. You have a nice plan. I tried planting broccoli and brussel sprouts in the fall but it turned cold to soon!

Such a nice garden. I used to live in McMinnville, TN back in 2006 🙂 I look forward to seeing more pictures

I really like your diagrams, and I hope to have my square foot garden as large as yours as soon as I can. Right now I have two 4×4 gardens, and one 4×2 garden. Keep up the good work!
