When to Plant by Spring Frost Date

The “last frost date” is the date that, on average, is the latest you will have frost in your area. After this date it is generally safe to transplant frost-sensitive plants and seeds. To determine your frost date: Click here. Under “Select a State(PDF)”, click on your state. This will bring up a list of locations and frost dates. 2008 Garden, Third Week of February

My seeds have been sprouting!!! My jalapeno peppers are doing great–at least two seeds from each have sprouted. I do notice a difference in the more expensive seeds. They seem hardier and almost every seed sprouts. I have a bunch of onions that have sprouted. And then I realized that I didn’t need 4 onions, I needed 4 SQUARES of onions, with 9 each.
